My PC build

Why desktop and not a laptop?
I wanted a general purpose desktop which could be used for animation, video editing, (say adobe and autodesk heavy weights used by wifey), programming and gaming. Added to the requirments the pleasure of a self-assembly pointed towards the desktop.

Budget and parts selection?
Back in 2000 my dad had gifted me a pentium3 desktop(~ ₹54000 at that time). These days parts are a bit cheaper☺; still I thought I should stick to a budget of 1 Lakh rupees(Eventhough I overshot; It's a gaming PC!). Exhaustive research was done for almost 2 weeks, as I had lost track of the current developments in PC parts. Nice trick by processor manufacturers - change the entire processor pinout(socket)-chipset-memory-connectivity ecosystem with each new releases. People are forced to buy the entire parts for each upgrade😠. I shouldn't say so, that happens with dramatic investments in research & development and advancement of technology in a faster lane.(Example: Isn't the M.2 connector present in the latest mobo's which can support both SATA & PCIe SSD's awesome? ≥ 6Gbps speeds). I selected skylake architecure(14nm process node) ;especially core i5 6600K running at 3.5GHz, which can be clocked upto 3.9GHz.

Shop and the build
Computer warehouse @M.G. road Bangalore was chosen for purchasing the parts. S.P Road or online buy would have saved a couple of thousands, but this time I really enjoyed ordering and getting delivery sitting on the shop's sofa. I also wanted the pc working on the same day I got the final urge to buy. All the assembly details are readily available from great youtubers. Please go through videos for each part. Its always good to understand what you are about to do!.
